Look Upon

I look upon the black nation sometimes I feel ashamed.
I look upon what we have went through and what we have accomplished.
I look upon what we have become...selling drugs, gangs, guns, death and destruction.
I look upon what we used to be...a proud nation of poets, authorts and writers.
I look upon our nation's leaders, Martin Luther King, Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks.
I look upon what they would say if they were all alive, would they curse as what would they look upon the good things and not the bad?
Would they look at our artists our news journalists or our heros in the army?
I think and think but in the end, that's all I can do.
I look upon this nation and I look upon what we are today and I think about the good we have done.
I look upon in excitement on what we will be.
